Things are hotting up round these parts and no mistake. The new Implosion
Quintet EP 'I don't hear a single' is released today, and the
debut 'The Future Sound of Yesterday' is released in July. There's
a special double release page over at IQ's
site where you can grab the EP and hear clips from the album.
You can also download the EP on the release page
as normal.
Enjoy!

Been a bit quiet round these parts, but there's finally a little
movement to report. The debut album, 'The Future Sound of Yesterday'
by Implosion Quintet is
being pressed as we speak. Scheduled for a June release on UK Label Cookshop,
it marks a personal milestone for IQ that has been a long time coming.
There's also been a video made
for the album opener 'Skeleton Crew'! Much hop and pipe-smoking. Hopefully
more to come, too...
Implosion
Quintet is never one to ignore the web
community, so this grand event coincides with the release of an EP
of free music on Commodity. Available several weeks in advance of
the album, the EP, titled 'I don't hear a single', features several
new songs not featuring on the album.
EPs by other artists have been more difficult to pull together than
hoped, but hopefully 2009 will be the year Commodity release something
from a wider pool.
On a related note - to those artists who've very kindly been sending
me demos, or prospective demo-senders, please note Commodity is a net
label,
and all releases here are 100% free, 100% digital and very low-key.
Although I appreciate the interest, if you're looking to make money,
your efforts are better spent elsewhere.
:)

• Le Shonk's just updated his microsite with
4 new tunes.
•
Cookshop *loved* the
IQ long player. :)
• Boomstation (aka Le Shonk) got comissioned to write a short electronica
piece for the Shanghai eArts festival.

Yet
another re-design?
Yes indeed, frail visitor. Commodity are currently putting together
a few releases for next year, so that called for some design changes
to the artwork. Which then bled into the site... Which then made
the site totally different...
Marvelous. Never really liked the old site though.
Implosionquintet.com has
been re-done in marking the completion of 'The future sound of yesterday'.
Those of you who come here solely for info about IQ would do well to
check the site as it's updated far more frequently than here...
Just
collated the entire IQ back catalogue as a torrent via The
Pirate Bay which
is
probably the easiest way to get your hands on everything quick-sharp.
Let me know if there
are no seeders.
